Potential Trailer Training
Potential Trailer Training B+E Category
* Assessment drive lasting 45mins is £20.00
* 1 Day course we are looking at £165.00 for 7 hours
* 2 Day course is £300.00 that is a full 14 hours plus the 3 hours for the test day
* 3 Day course is £465.00 that is a full 21 hours plus the 3 hours for the test day
* If any further tuition is needed after the two days £25.00 per hour
* The test price is £115.00, this is not included in the tuition prices
* We will do residential trailer courses at B&B rate of £25.00 per night
Please remember that if you tow a trailer without passing the tralier training test you could be liable to.
The penalties you would receive if the category was not on your license and it works out at
3 points for no category
6 points for no insurance
Minimum of £400 fine but could be anything over this!
AS you can see the vehicle is a Nissan Navara with an Ifor Williams horse trailer, length is 10 mtrs.

Are you Legal?
Did you know that if you passed your test your car driving test after the 1st Jan 1997 then you are required by law to pass the tralier test to tow large trailers.
In addition to the new driving tests, drivers of vehicles which fall within subcategories C1, C1+E, D1 and D1+E also have to meet higher medical standards.
Category B+E: Vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes MAM towing trailers over 750kgs MAM Category B+E allows vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes MAM to be combined with trailers in excess of 750kgs MAM. In order to gain this entitlement new category B licence holders have to pass a further practical test for category B+E. There is no category B+E theory test. For driver licensing purposes there are no vehicle/trailer weight ratio limits for category B+E.
